Cardif, a subsidiary of the French banking group BNP Paribas, is one of the world's leading providers of residual debt and payment default insurances - and a pioneer of digital underwriting solutions. In Germany, the company makes a name for itself with innovative online insurance policies: 'RepairProtect', a repair cost insurance for used cars, and 'RisikoLeben', a life insurance policy that consumers can conveniently purchase online from their home.

The Strategy: As experts for the communication of products in need of explanation, we accompanied the launch of RepairProtect in a multimedia format with illustrative films in the style of consumer magazines. For the online term life insurance, which at the time was new to the German market, we created an animated product film, highlighting the benefits of the policy and taking users through the process step by step.

The Result: Insurance can be this clever and simple. Consumers accepted Cardif's offers right from the start - to the amazement of the insurance industry.


"Gebraucht? Aber sicher!" (Used car? Play it safe) - based on this wordplay which became the campaign's central idea, we supported the entire launch of RepairProtect: from brand positioning, the design of the sales process and the development of the website through to the creation of accompanying communication materials.
